Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients:
1 stick real butter ( I use 1/2 a stick and it still works)
2 cups (1 pint) heavy whipping cream
1 clove garlic, crushed
pepper and salt to taste
12 oz pasta
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (plus some for table)

Directions:
Melt butter in medium (heavy bottomed) sauce pan, over medium heat. Reduce heat to med/low and add heavy cream and garlic. Do NOT boil the cream it will curdle! At the merest simmer, stirring often, the sauce will thicken. About 15-20 min, depending on pans and temp. Be patient. (It will also thicken once it cools on top of pasta) Once thickened, add parmesan, toss with pasta and serve.
